We were as little children
struggling against the rampages of nature.
We were alone,
yet together we always found a way to believe.
We were not lovers,
yet in love with the companionship only found among brothers.
We were not each other’s fantasy,
yet in reality we satisfied each other’s soul.
We were jealous and suspicious
of each others’ stories,
but we were solid
and we kept faithful to our dreams.
We had nothing to offer to each other.
but the comfort of our allegiance for today
which leads to tomorrow’s threshold.
